The lifeline of India, the common man’s travel has just undergone a slight premium makeover while the wheels also got faster. Gatimaan, India's fastest train hit the tracks on Tuesday.
The train was decorated ahead of its maiden journey from the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station on Tuesday. The maximum speed it clocks: 160 km per hour.
As melodies floated through the air at the station, train stewards and hostesses welcomed the passengers with roses on board the Gatimaan Express.
The train also has a high-power emergency braking system, automatic fire alarm, GPS-based passenger information system and sliding doors in the coaches
